It's looking good in terms of execution, but I don't really see the resemblance, and I think I know why (if I may be so pedantic): you've drawn by sight, and that's a good thing, but for portraits, there's no shame in using some aid to get the facial idiosyncracies right, especially if you're not used to doing highly detailed portraits. There is, for instance, nothing wrong with using a grid on your piece and the model to make the distances between nose and mout (of rinstance) match. Because any resemblance will be ruined if the facial features are incorrectly spaced.
Of course, you may have been going for a very natural and unforced piece, in that case my advice is moot. But even then, for training purposes, a grid is good (Hell, I still use it when I need to make an exact portrait )

Amazing. It's ironic to see how Schaffer's hair went from brown to grey. He's not that old. But, I guess a lot of stress comes with being a musician. He even has a daughter now.
First off, everyone here at deviantART would like to say THANK YOU!!! We have received an overwhelming amount of enthusiasm for the launch of version 6 and believe that this has been our best-received launch to date.
