This pretty much spells out why the Discord-X-Pinkie ship doesn't work. Pinkie is good-aligned, and thus obviously won't appreciate Discord's knack for evil, while Discord is a mild Satan analogue in that he believes himself better than mortals (and thus, better than Pinkie) but loses self-esteem when the mortals in question don't reaffirm that fact

I like your interpretation! Good point ^^ Moreover, that shows how, despite being a god, Discord still needs Pinkie to confirm and appreciate his work. I imagine that as his most insecure side
