I'm terrible at explaining things so I'll kind of show a picture drawing of it.

With due of my terrible explanation, the purple lines are like the "path of light" as I would call it so to speak. However the actual "path of light" is much like the path of light in this picture. It makes the highlighting fall kind of flat, but also due to the fact that some of the shading follows a slightly similar path, but instead of falling "flat" like the rest of the lightning, it seems to kind of have a different source of light, causing the shadow underneath the bang on the left.

I hope I don't sound too confusing. The picture isn't bad at all by any means, just something I noticed.

uh....according to you own diagram, there is nothing wrong with the lighting/shading. there's nothing wrong with my light source but thanks anyway??

No the lighting is fine but the shading underneath the bangs are wrong.

Sorry to butt in--I don't believe you're being specific enough, because according to your light source post above, the shading is technically correct, if not completely it's close to it.

In situations like these it would help if you had a visual of the how the shading would actually look, according to what you're saying. Maybe then it will be understood better. Hope it helps!

Responding to both of you since I have confused you both.

I see now. Nice diagram, btw. She was close though. I'll leave it up to her for her own response though.

If you notice in the image diagram I have just conjured up to you about the single light source, and how the depth of the character's head kind of goes back, having shading below that bang does not make any sense, it's too far away to be making any shading like that. It's just not right.

i didn't want the picture to be that dark for one thing and she's not turned enough for the shading to be that way either. i've asked other people and they don't find any problem with how it is and your issue is kind of strange but like i said before, thanks anyway
