Having a colour profile for your printer helps. It's basically a set of instructions telling the printer how to use its inks to try and match the colours as represented on the screen. Google for your printer's make and model along with the search term "ICC color profile". Hopefully, you should find the color profile for your printer, which will be a file with the extension .icm. Once you've downloaded it, double-click it to install (that's assuming you're using Windows, of course). There may be several colour profiles available for different paper types. When printing, make sure the printer is set to use the appropriate colour profile (if you're in Windows 7 or Vista, the control panel icon Color Management lists all devices like monitors and printers and allows you to select the colour profile; if you're in XP, go into the Properties dialogue for your printer and select the colour profile from there). Sorry if this is a little technical, but screen-to-print colour fidelity is a complicated topic.
