He is used to being around other kids. He has an older brother and a younger sister, and all of them are looking out for each other.
He is definitely one of the kids I feel comfortable with. Of course, you can't choose the friends for your kids, but there are really kids I don't want to see my son to go out with. With him I know that I don't have to proclaim a whole lot of instructions first.

Yes, you always have to make them believe that they are the ones that make the decisions, or that your decisions are for their own benefit.
It's hard to understand that parents' decisions are for the kids' benefit
