One of the first things Princess-Queen Cadence learned when she became the duel monarch of both the crystal empire and the changeling swarm, was that her newest subjects were screaming for blood. The war was over, Chrysalis was gone . . . so was her inner circle and her generals. Cadence had to legally adopt Chrysalis' mentally and physically retarded royal nymph Pupa to circumvent changeling tradition that stated any spawn of the previous Queen had to be 'gotten rid of'. Cadence thought the worst of the new head of state of the hive was past.

.  . . Except the average changeling worker . . . they had all heard the horror stories of what had happened to defenseless, unarmed, changelings eggs, so many . . . treated like live stock being slaughtered to weaken an enemy . . .

"Shining . . . I need the names of the Equestrian soldiers who did this . . . In sorry dear. And yes dear, I know what that might reveal . . . but when I became their new queen, I took a vow.

"Basically it's either face the inter-kingdom courts for crimes against Equinity.
"Or be mutated into female changelings and be made to lay a hatchling for every unborn changeling that was killed.

Thou each time i see the changelings, i think of them more and more as aliens from the movie

Bah, Changelings are nothin' compare to the Xenomorphs.

of course they cant, that´s why we send ponies after them instead of predators.

In the pony comics coming out in November, Chrysalis either begins to systematically replace ponies (who aren't very good actors unlike the soldiers we saw before) who have weird eyes and walk around weird, or is systematically BRAINWASHING the ponies of ponyville.

There's one thing I've never gotten.

WHAT IS WITH THE WRITING MOTIF THAT PEOPLE BRAINWASHED NEVER REMEMBER WHAT THEY DO WHEN BRAINWASHED?! WHAT PURPOSE DOES THAT SERVE IN THE PLOT?! IT FEELS SO UTTERLY POINTLESS!!!!!!

I suppose it removes the need of portraying guilt and emphasize on the fact that their actions under brainwashing wasn't exactly their fault.

For me? That creates the idea that the spell created a new sentience to follow orders the mind's true sentience wouldn't, and once the spell was removed, the new sentience DIED.

Aye, all the more emphasizes the evilness of the villains, does it? :evillaugh:

And the total indifference of the heroes.

Much like whenever there's an 'instant clone' machine laying about, and the clones die, no one so much as sheds a tear.

And I think that's part of where the idea of Fluttercruel came from.

Fluttershy, "You're the nightmare."
Fluttercruel, "Nightmares aren't real. I'm as real as you and my NAME is Fluttercruel, not 'nightmare' stupid."

Yeah, well, most audiences don't think much beyond that.

That doesn't make it any less apathetic.
