Yeah, that's why the line WORKED. So it's NOT impossible to make something even as dark as suicide funny... but there are a LOT of factors that play into it, and if you screw up the writing on a good suicide joke, then you're going to screw up ROYALY because it will come off as cheap, gratuitous, unnecessary, and offensive.
exactely. lets compare with the suicide jokes of Moe at The Simpsons. i know, its a completely different target, the Simpsons is an adult cartoon. but the jokea about this makes me laugh, Moe fourtunately fails everytime, and he doesnt look desperate as Squidward. i know, its dark humor, but its not offensive as Spongebob was :/
