The second verse oddly reminds me of a romance fanfic I read somewhere a while ago; the main character (female) hides behind an expressionless mask (mentally, not physically) to shield herself from the world and when she meets a special man, he effortlessly takes away her mask and teaches her to control her emotions. Now, I'm not comparing you, but simply saying that this poem reminds me that things can sometimes happen.
