At first yes. I tried acrylics then but found them even harder to handle. So i've changed back to oils. After i found out how to use the long drying time to my advantage i was a lot more comfortable with them. 
thanks for the responce, I only ask cause im wanting to start playing around with a thick medium but cant seem to decide, its intimidating, and your stuff is beautiful so i thought id ask, so thanks!
