Thank you! :D I had to move quickly because the snake definitely wasn't keeping still

:) I guess so. I almost step at one few years ago and it tried to attack me. Fortunately I jumped out of it's reach.

Ah! Be careful, especially if you can't tell what type it is. This little one is harmless though, at least to humans.

Well in my country there's only one type of poisonous snake and it's viper. Anyway even if you get bitten it's not so serious that you'll die (unless you're child or you're not healthy) but still you'll be ill for a two weeks or so. That's what I heard.

You're lucky to have only that one type! We have about four very deadly ones, two of which I run into pretty frequently. Cottonmouths the most. I nearly stepped on one last year. Still, I'm glad you weren't bitten :)

I heard that cottonmouths are pretty aggressive it's great that you weren't bitten as well :)
Anyway the one I was writing about earlier was Vipera berus (common European viper). I wish I could take picture of it someday because they are rather beautiful snakes

The ones I've seen are bold as hell. I've never had one come after me, but they sit there and glare instead of slithering off like most other snakes. I always have to slowly pick my way around them.

Who knows, maybe you can take some pics! just be careful if you come across one. I know I'd look at your photos of those 8D

Well I have to wait for an opportunity to summer, it's easiest to find them in sun in the middle of trail :)
