Zomg. Icen, I have a whole new found respect for you. 
Sounds like everything I had been debating with people for the longest time in my school. [ I go to a top knotch school where most students are rather... loaded. ] Most of the girls wear furr on a daily basis. Then I was on dA looking around and a friend of mine, posted a link in her journal about Animal cruelty. And it was a home movie of these poor raccoon looking creatures being pulled from their cages, beaten with clubs, and then thrown on the ground head first repeatily. And as one was being beat, you could see the others around it, having siezures and convulsions due to the severe head trauma of having their skull smashed on the ground. Then I watched them skin it alive. YES ALIVE. THEY DIDN'T HAVE ENOUGH GOD DAMN FUCKING CURTISY TO PUT IT OUT OF ITS MISERY BEFORE THEY SLOWLY SKINNED IT ALIVE!!!
I know you have seen my one deviation about Fox, Rabbit, and Mink furr being ADVERTISED right here on dA. And I know you have heard this rant from me once before. But I just hope, some body reads this, and starts being ACTIVE about saving creatures from this same fate, some where in the future. Because if I had written this about HUMANS being penned up in cages and slowly tortured, I'm sure people would pay more attention. Pft.
And again, Icen, I respect you so much more then any other human being right now, because what you just did was amazing work, and a great rant to support Animal Rights.
And I'm sorry this is so long.

not so long ago I found a poster here in my town which had a cute fox baby on it and the text said: "do you have a fur coat? my mommy gave her life for it"

I've gotten into huge debates myself with people about fur. I live in a place where the kids are loaded, but they don't wear fur. They wear things that say "Juicy" on their asses and ridiculous stuff like that. I think though, that most of the kids would find fur wrong. Though they may not be the brightest, I think they can tell when animals are being wrongly used for something completely useless.
I've seen stuff like that (with the raccoons). Mostly on the PETA website(s). It's so awful. And what sucks is it's still happening. In a place like the USA. I mean c'mon people, humans can use cotton and other shit for warmth! Plus it's way too out of style and just ridiculous to wear.
