I played it... I'm afraid I have to agree - it was quite boring and the fact I couldn't bring my squadmates with me made me feel like I wasn't playing ME at all, just another multiplayer mission >.>
Nyreen was awesome, of course, but the fact they killed her so easily was more than disappointing :P I was kinda hoping for a chance to keep her with me on the Normandy and boo :P
(I'm somehow certain the fact of both above comes directly from the problem BioWare could have had with employing their voice actors for this DLC. I mean, we don't hear any of the squadmates talking about it, right? >.>)

You can't overlook the rewards, though.  Lot of ships, good soldiers, and a huge supply of E. Zero can really help your rallying fleet in the final battle.

For me it was like the entire game (without EC) : pretty good... except the end where it's crap. When they killed off Nyreen that was so random and out of place, not only did I cry, I also nerd raged over it. Also my Shepard standing still, emotionless, like nothing happened at that moment was the icing on the cake. It had no point, except making Aria angry, that's pretty low : Nyreen's role get downgraded from awesome character to a plot-tool at that point, though Aria could've entered into her berserk mode by just seeing Petrovsky with her own eyes.

My biggest gripe, is the anti-climatic ending : Nyreen's completely forgotten, the bad guy gives up, Aria coming back to the Citadel instead of staying on Omega, and like you said, our squadmates aren't aware or don't even care of what happened while we were gone. Not even the Romance ! Garrus, I could've died there you jerk !

Had the developpers tried something like, you act Paragon/Renegade : Nyreen/Aria goes along with you for the last act and the other dies, the DLC would've almost completely redeemed itself in my opinion.

But hey ! There's some hope left ! Let's just say Nyreen had a teleporter device on her before the grenades explode ! Since we don't see her remains, we can guess she's still alive ! So, next up, in Mass Effect 3 : Citadel (20€ only !!), Nyreen makes a triumphant return by THE POWER OF LOVE & SPACE MAGIC ! :imhappyplz:

Meh, I was really disappointed at the DLC. Nyreen seemed much more badass the way I imagined her, and while I liked her, she was... somehow not developed well enough. I didn't fall for her like I thought I would :P Not to mention her out-of-the-blue death really left me with a WTF painted all over my face. It really just seemed like a cheap trick to set Aria on fire >.<
Not to mention the fact she kept on disappearing from the team, saying "hey, I need to meet my men" or "I need to save some civilians" and I was all like "Hey, girl, come back here! I gave you my favourite pistol!!"

What I was really missing in this DLC was the RPG, choose-your-way-through-this part. The only thing I noticed was the fact my (like three throughout the game) paragon choices made Aria refrain from killing Petrovsky. I mean, okay, fun, but... seriously? I thought I was playing the game where "each choice has tremendous effect on the Galaxy" :P

Well, I am kinda hoping Nyreen had survived, but I'm not really expecting to see her anywhere in the future DLC's... although I admit, I'd love that :D

I'm also kinda hoping for a turian female biotic class in MP along with those awesome Omega locations as new area :D
