I'm sorry! :iconcraiplz: I wondered that as well... if he (the bird) really fit as a mount. I think if he was a bit bigger it could work. But I also thought about the pet idea and I hoped whoever adopts them will love them all the same. :3 Whichever way they choose. But I like your description and I can picture it perfectly. :D

Well when it comes to mounts size doesn't really matter all that much.
I mean when I was 10-ish, two of my younger sisters plus me were able to pack outselves in our wagon and my dog would pull all 3 of us at top speed down the street. I think all together we weighed between 150-200 pounds, and our dog was just a small lab maybe 100 pounds at most.
She had strong mucles and a good bones dashed with a bit of energy.
I remember one time she pulled all 4 of us up a snowie hill and my neighbor tried to have his rottweiler pull his 3 year old up the same hill, and his rottie just couldn't do it. She was bigger than our dog too.

If you think about it that way the bird may still be able to hold her, and I can definetly imagen him pulling on a slay. Seeing as he probably wouldn't be a flying bird due to his size, maybe he evolved stronger bones, less porous than flying birds making them better weight barers. Then perhaps as young hatchlings the people who tame them begin early wight training to enable them to be use to the weight a rider would add and to build their muscles. It can work...You just have to imagen it.

I can give you more possiblities if you wanted a flying strong mount too OwO;
I thought about it to much XD
