I disagree, conte does not blend like charcoal does, it's almost waxier but in a drier form.
Well then find the best tool to blend it, so that you don't have such a dark area to remove medium from. I'm done, as, unless I'm misreading your wording, you aren't the type to accept helpful criticism or suggestions.
no actually I was trying to give you my honest opinion and also explain the how i drew this.
