We medicated our young men in my generation with SSRI's (Selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor) and other drugs like Ritalin to "cure" them of their ADD and ADHD. Now the few that were already unstable who have been medicated to the point of insanity are killing people. I can't go one day without meeting another male who isn't damaged in some way due to unreported long term side effects of severely altering the male brain chemistry all in the name of creating order in the classroom and improving grades. Instead, I meet guys at work, at the card/hobby shop, and in other random places that talk about their lack of long term memory, memory loss of the entire period of time from start to end of the drugs, failing grades when they got off of them, psychotic episodes, suicidal tendencies, bouts of sudden, unprovoked, and uncontrollable rage where you just have to leave the room and wait for them to calm down, nightmares, biological failures of organs that just shouldn't be failing in their 30's, and the list goes on.
Now we in the 90's 2000's and today have the biggest school massacres we've ever had. And people want to ban guns. We have men in their 30's that can't remember their entire life until they stopped taking the drugs in their late teens or early twenties, and we're doing it to more boys even younger and younger instead of trying to teach in school the way boys actually learn.
Gun laws won't fix this problem. Gun laws just make it easier to kill more people faster.
