yeah, the breeder as telling me he sells his birds to pet stores and they often tack 10-20 pound on to the asking price,

So if you go to a breeder you will give you a much better deal, that and you can ask them to tame a bird from a young age so its friendly
sadly I didn't have this option since my bird was a birthday gift overdue I simply chose from youngsters that were ready, but having tamed birds before its not such a big deal :3 (even if this moody one currently hates me)
