It was a nice big open area... gave me lots of room to get lots of tiny lines in. However... Im thinking in the last couple pieces I may have spent too much time on detail- eventually it just becomes a grey blur lol

Yeah, I know what you mean. 32x40... that's pretty big. I usually work with 9x12 or 11x14.

Where do you sell pieces like this?

Scaling down from an actual car- 32"x40" is a reasonable transition for me. Going smaller gets a little funny, but i just have to change my mind set and start point. Sometimes I work reeeeeeally small just to be outside the box. I sell directly form my site, blog, i do promos on facebook, and i also sell on eBay. And craigslist lol anywhere I can get the word out. Are you looking to start trying to sell some of your work?

Ah, ok nice. Have you tried Etsy? That is another viable site for selling art.

I kind of am... but nearly all of the recent work I've done has been for people/organizations. I want to start developing a portfolio for myself, so I started a little drawing of a lightbulb today. My goal is to produce another piece quickly, but I kind of doubt I will be able to do that lol. I am forcing myself to stay off the 0.3mm mechanical pencils... hopefully that will speed me up :-P

You know I've noticed something similar- If I use ultra fines or always grab fresh markers the lines are finer and sharper giving more room for detail- but the trade off is it takes more time to complete something in that manner. I have an Etsy account, but with so many people/artist pouring their stuff onto the site, its just a bit much i think. Maybe I'll have another go at it tho.

I make something new everyday- no matter what. Doesnt have to be huge, doesn't have to top the last one, but something enough to where i can feel accomplished for the day and had some practice. As long as you're not trying to create wall sized masterpieces daily, I'm sure you'll do great at :) just takes a little bit of discipline

Yeah there is a lot of art on there - most of it crap :-P I have my Ferrari drawing listed on there, but it only has 5 views.

I don't really like to practice outside of working on my main pieces :-/ Not a great habit haha

I actually didn't care for practice outside commissions either until recently. What i found was my 'practice' pieces came out well enough to share, so I would always look like i was working on something. Which I am- I just treat the practice pieces a little more casually and actually they tend to come out pretty clean as a result.

I know what you mean about etsy- just so much stuff lost in the confusion there.

Well I got to go now, nice talking to you man!

Yeah I should try that out. It is kind of annoying doing maybe 1 piece every 1-2 months...

But hopefully I can finish that lightbulb relatively soon. Just have a few college applications to deal with right now.
