OOOOOO CHOCOLATE HALFLINGSSS AND GOBLINSESSS??? :iconwateryeyesmeagolplz::heart:
YUMMY!!!!...We hadn't thoughts of it preciousss!...hm...we shoulds get ssome melting machine and melt chocolatesess on it...and then give a chocolate bath to Bagginsess and goblinsess!!!..AND HAVES THEM FOR SSSUPPER!!! *snores and chokes on the emotion*...sssuch a GOOD IDEA...
.
Oh yes, indeed!...Books are ALWAYS BETTER, PRECIOUS!...You can bet!
Our mind's eye has no technical limitations...it never had, even back then when technology wasn't enough as to take them to movie images!...
Oh and NOW I gotta tell you this!...
The Sméagol in my drawings looks like he does since more or less
22 years!...In my head he always looked like that. The funny thing is I had seen drawings depicting him very different from that which were supposed to influence my view on the character(and the movie froggy...and the pink and fat or green or black mummy like from many authors)...but inside my head he did look like in my drawings ... he still does now!.
The funny thing is, in the Jackson movie he ended up looking quite much like the one I always imagined!...Only mine has green eyes (or grey), a rounder facial structure, despite his thinness- and I always "saw" him very clever and cunning.
.
Please don't strangle the dog!!!...
I imagine you would wanna do it now...-I would too, believe me- but hold yourself back, blue woman!!!...Take a deep breath and try to pretend covers are not important to books!!!...U.U
Oh Rascal, what've you done...
tarpalsfan's avatar
LOL!
Rascal is naughty. But I love him to much to strangle him..though at times he tempts me! Blue Woman? Abes the blue one-not I!
.
Well, the Smeagol you draw makes sense, after all, he is a Halfling, or something close to one. I do believe that Smeagol/Gollums eyes were supposed to be green. Fat? How could poor Smeagol be fat? He lives in a cave, and lives on fish, or the unlucky goblin that wanders into Gollums reach. I think this version the best. The amphibious frog like Gollum is fun, and I like it alot. But he doesn't really make alot of sense.
.
That;s really cool that you have always 'seen' Smeagol the way you do. Pretty awesome!
.
I have to agree with you. A movie can't have every wonderful detail that a book does. Did you ever read the book version of Star Wars,Salems Lot, or The Shining? Special effects can add to a movie...but those special effects pale in comparison to what our minds conjure when we read a book.
.
I was yucky feeling last night and this morning. Even chocolate doesn't sound terribly appetizing right now. Esp. not chocolate covered Goblin. :( Nor candy dipped Bilbo. However, those chocolate cupcakes...I bet Bilbo could cook you up some of those! Even sweeter than a Hobbit that missed to many second breakfast! :)

Oh yes, that's how they are...sometimes you wanna squeeze them...but they stare and..well STARE THAT WAY at you and then...you end up rubbing their bellies...
Well for me you're the Blue woman!...not blue like sadblue...blue like Abe!...you know what I mean...I never saw yer face yet! :slow:
So when I think of you...cough...you have Abe's face...nomatter how weird it might sound!
.
Yes we does preciousss :iconsmeagolsmileplz::heart:
I always saw him as a wasted starved child...wretched by time yet never growing up...I guess I took that from Tolkien's letters when he explains the "growth stop" which the ringbearers suffered. I always saw him as ald without being old...In a vampire-like way. A ruined child with an elder's experience...YEAH, THAT.
His eyes were green in the book...so...couldn't help it. ^.^
And yeah, how could he get fat with such a diet and a living???Some Illustrators were thinking in some other thing when they designed him. Seriously. I saw one once which was very fat and pink...and with a walruses' tusks...O.Ou
All that said, the froglike one is kinda cute, and made me laugh alot!!!
Plus, your drawing of him made me grow to like him even more
.
Awesome:perhaps...Weird:YES!!!...I can't even describe you my face when I first saw him on screen during The Two Towers...I nearly died...seriously I wasn't breathing. The friends which came and watch it with me were like "are you choking on the popcorn?" and I just gasped very low "That's...exactly...it's like somebody ripped that image off my imagination..." and then another of my friends cut me by screaming "OI LAVINIA, GOLLUM'S FACE LOOKS JUST LIKE YOURS!!!"... O.Ou
.
Hm...star wars: nope...Salem's lot, a long time ago...and it was far better than the movie...The shining :no (how could I???)...But other King's stuff yes...and movies tend not to make his books justice, for example...and well...Lewis Carrol's ALICE...Nobody ever got that one right...Burton's one I like it...but it's another thing.
So yes...effects might be wonderful...but our minds surpass them easily if we're creative.
.
Hmmm:iconstinkeyesmeagolplz:
So perhapsess it iss better if I gets him to sstay and cook ssome of those preciousss...iss Kath better now, my preciousss?...wouldss she have ssome cupcakesess if we gets the Bagginsess to cook? :innocent:

You haven't seen me?
Check the link in your notes.
Blue woman eh? I turned into a Zombie last Halloween. After a girl with make-up got finished with me...I was indeed blue. However, I doubt that Dear Abraham would have found me attractive though!
.
I had a feeling that your sudden fondness of the Animated Gollum had something to do with our friendship. But my friend, you don't have to like that version of Gollum...if you think my drawing is good! That is what makes me happy! Still, froggy has to be better than a fat, pink, tusk'd Gollum...;O I am glad that I never saw that one...I would not have liked it. Your drawings of Smeagol/Gollum, and the movie version nail it. That is how I see him too.
.
Whoa! Talk about poorly worded! your friend yelled in the theatre...:""OI LAVINIA, GOLLUM'S FACE LOOKS JUST LIKE YOURS!!!"... O.Ou! Did you kick him? I guess he was surprised;) It does seem like someone picked your idea of what Smeagol looked like right out of you imagination though. It really is uncanny. :wow:
.
The book version of The Shining really isn't much like the movie version. It really is better than the movie. It is wierd, but my husband found a hard cover book sitting on a garbage can at his work place. THE FIRST PRINTING! I have mostly read Steven Kings short stories in short horror story collections.
I tried to like Burtons version of Alice in Wonderland...but I didn't. I don't know why. I think :iconcatshere: did though.
.
I guess I am better. I don't feel now, just can't eat. I am drinking though. If Bilbo would bake me a cake...I would to eat it.

Hhaaha, now I'VE SEEN YOU!!!...
You're very nice, and Don and Cat too!
Oh how TALL Cat is!...And pretty also!
I saw the zombie pics as well, and I think they look great!...*the onbe with the rage virus is to die for*
I loved you all, and Dumbledore too!!!
-But, but...Abraham HAS to find you attractive!!!...You're like his sister!...his Mother!...I mean...ABE!...Please come 'ere and tell the lady here she's attractive!-
*Abe walks in blushing and staring at the floor*
.
Haha, that's most probably the reason!...Though as you remaek there, that pink, fat, tusked Gollum was...ewww...I like froggy all the best if I'm to choose. But you made me fond of that design, indeed...More than anything, I like your drawings on it! :glomp:
Do you really think so?...THANKS!... I feel so proud then...:happycry:
.
Hahaha, it was a she...and nope, I didn't...As sad as it might sound, I found it strangely cute that she thought so, but what scared me like hell was that people on the theater turning to "see if she was right"...I hate it when people stares...
And yes...it really kinda frightened me the likeness between what I was watching on screen and my imagination!...:iconsmeagolscreamplz:
*What have you done!...Levae my thoughtses, you can't steal them, they're mine! HISSSS*
.
 SSSLURP...the first editioooonnnn....
How great a finding!!! Tell Don he's a lucky one!
I'll have to read it then...hm...I've read shorts from him also...and some of the novels. Carrie, Pet sematary, Needful things, and some others I can't recall now...All of them good!
Ah yes, it is hard not to recall how the book went like...and be surprised *mostly annoyed* at some moments by the HUGE differences...the thing that saved it to me was that Burton warned "it was some sort of a sequel to the stories in the books...so it won't be the same"...
Oh hahaha, give Cat a big hug from me would ya?
.
And are you better NOW?...I really hope so...Oh please, get better...I don't want you to get too thin or feel bad!...
.

Thank you for the kind words on the photos I have posted here. Cat and Don are everything to me, my treasures.
.
Abe's mother! Good grief I am old! :(
Abe/ langdon Everret Caul was over 70 years old before the start of the American Civil War in 1861. Long wierd story. But I ain't old enough to be his mother.
.
28 Days Later...the scariest part of the whole movie was the very beginning-where the virus was released from the animal testing compound. Such a virus is almost believable. Not quite, but almost.
Zombies are so stupid. So absurd. Yet so much sick fun. So I will participate in the CRAWL again if they have one this year. Only if they do it for the Food bank though. I will also do a drawing for the artshow!
.
I know, sometimes it seems like someone has a tap into your brain-when they have the same idea you do. I have heard artist say it time and time again. It is really uncanny! I can't see how anyone could have the same idea as you-to the detail, as how Gollum should look. Really it is unreal. :(
.
Why would somone just sit a first edition of The Shining on top of the trash? Where did it come from? I mean, he found it like two years ago. I can understand a copy of The Shining. A reprint. But the hard cover first edition? It isn't in mint condition...but still in darn good. Oh well, Lucky me. I enjoyed reading it very much...a far better ending than the movie version.
.
I am good. Get this. Cats' school closed for 2 days because of the flu here. But so far, except for some minor sicknesses-we have been spared! In our area, the flu and the Norovirus'(spelling) going around, (BAD stomache virus!) but, since our flu shots have probably kicked in...maybe we will not get the flu! :la:

You're welcome, the pics are just too cool!!!
They seem to be lovely people, just as you do! *sir hugsalot attack!!!*
.
Better then, you could be *cough* any other...uh...thing to him!...
.
Yeah, I know what you mean...when I watched that one I was like O.O...Oh gosh, that could happen right away, anyday!...
Sure they are!...Though the ones in 28 days after, and REC (did you see that one?...It's spanish) are cool enough!...
OHHH YES DO IT PLEASE!!!...I wanna see that already!
.
Unreal and actually frightening...The only things different, the color of the eyes and some reactions he had. I imagined him being now childlike, now bitter and savage...but always sly and with a sense of cunnigness which I thought kinda lacked in the movies...but that's just me...
I really can't think how could that happen...I'm tempted to search though my home and see whether some of my childhood drawings of Sméagol still exist...I would even upload them here as an oddity...
.
Now I gotta read it...O.O
And nope...can't figure out why would anybody throw it away!...Perhaps the one who had it didn't know what it was, even...The only explanation, for me...WHAT A GOOD CHANCE FOR YOU!!!
.
OHHHH Now I see...Okay, it probably was that!... :phew:
Poor Tarp!!!...We tend to have that kind of issues here as well, during winter...and some of them flu sh#ts are tricky...they prevent flu, though they make you sick in the belly!!!
 Get well soon!!!
