I actually heard a fan theory that he didn't even have an escape door in the barrier but that it was completely welded together. It would have been hilarious to see him trying to break free in panic after he realised this. 
....yeah.....any chance of that happening along with my idea? that would be awsome....and funny....mostly funny for us....sad for the crazy....and embaressing for anderson.....and some lols for the vampire nazi's and freaks. (we need the lols now more then ever! to much seriousness!)
