The Miranda is an extremely versatile ship. This is why it proved herself for up till the late TNG era - you can equip it for any purpouse. And yeah, it can surely kick ass 
Then Comes the Dominion War, The Miranda Class Becomes the Redshirts of The Fleet.
It makes me wonder, did they make a break-up animation for the Miranda model and used that over and over and over...?
