Colors are lovely, texture is complementary to the style of the characters.

I can't comment much about the abstract aspect of your art but perhaps that it's quite unruly. If you were going for an elegant calligraphic effect, you're a little off. I'll say it's kind of messy, actually. Maybe tone down the lines a little, make it go in more purposeful directions and also limit the number of strokes. It's only a decorative piece, not leaves and grass blown into the characters faces
