In America it's sixteen. Actually, though, even if you are sixteen, you can't really get as good of jobs as 18+.

there is no reason why their parents couldn't help them raise the child.

If the 16 year old feels they are able to take care of a child, they should be allowed to.

If the parents want to help out, that's fine. I just meant she probably isn't able to raise it entirely on her own.

I'm not stopping her from raising the baby on her own. I'm just saying that due to the place where she likely is in life, it's probably not beneficial. When I was sixteen, I didn't have a job at all, and my boyfriend and I never could have raised a kid on our own. (Speaking of, is the baby's daddy staying around?)
