Well I'm a freelance/studio photographer by trade. But these dolls are just one of the many things I like to include into my photography, since so much effort goes into them...I might as well.
Plus I take commissions because I paint/customize these dolls for other people, so I use my camera to build a portfolio. As for the maintenance of the dolls, they are put together with hooks, string and wires, usually. They need to be restrung after so long, as well as cleaned with gentle materials. They're made out of a heavy duty resin, that can scratch and chip easily, and also YELLOW if not cared for properly. Most of the materials used to paint and customize them are also toxic...so a certain amount of care has to be considered when you handle them, lol. They can be a pain in the butt sometimes.
