I admit to being a little prejudiced when it comes to anime. My grandfather, who was a major influential figure in my early life, hated it, and so I learnt to hate it too. Mind you, I have a healthy respect for those who draw good anime and manga... but I can't and won't draw it myself.

I USED to be okay with anime... until I saw just how much of it there was. Hense, the avatar. Pretty much 80 percent of avatars that I see are some sort of anime. I just think people need to find their own style, as you have. And I can't say I respect people who draw it well, because I don't like any of it, frankly. :/
