What the heck is a pile launcher? O_o

And eeyup, that'd waylay a supercharged psychic soldier a bit.

If you know what a pile driver is, then think of launching piles :D

*Blink*

...But a pile driver is called that because it drives piles, pillars, pikes, and other building-related material into the ground. So it's just a fancy way of saying it's a mass driver? O_o And if so, isn't that the same thing as a Railgun? Both are accelerating mass to high velocity in order to deliver excessive kinetic energy on target. Unless the "pile launcher" uses a different motive mechanism than electromagnetism, in which case I could see the difference.

I mean, don't get me wrong, I likes me the idea of guns that shoot giant spikes of tungsten at high mach numbers, but when you've got that AND railguns, it just seems redundant. *Shrugs*

There are a lot of weapons that fire shells using chemical propellants, but they aren't all under the same name :)
It's firing a specific munition (high diameter and length) at lower velocity than a normal rail or gauss rifle. It really is launching piles.

I can understand that, but "pile launcher" just sounds like a piece of construction equipment. ;p I get the image those things on its arms are like stake launchers from a Van Helsing comic. ;p

But I'm a nitpicky asshole sometimes, so take what you will from it.
