A squid, man lego has come a way since I last mucked about with it.

I have kind of conflicted feelings about LEGO nowadays...What gets me down is all the really highly specialized pieces they put into a lot of the new kits, and some of the Technic- or Bionicles-derived pieces, that are really hard to integrate with conventional LEGO bricks. Some of the pieces are so specific that they only seem to work with the actual kit they come with, which to me is kind of antithetical to the whole modular LEGO design philosophy. Also not a huge fan of some of the new product lines, Spinjitzu and all that nonsense. Classic Space, that's good memories for me!

I can see what you mean. Meccano did the same thing.

I used to have huge buckets of LEGO (at least it seemed big to me), nothing fancy, just plain LEGO. It had the odd window and wheel in the mix.

Oh wow, Meccano--that's a blast from the past! I think they're marketed under the name Erector over here. Which sounds suggestive.

That's the very best kind!
