I see, fyi the anime stopped at the end of the fullbring arc at episode 366 (I heard it'll continue around this year, though I'm not sure if that's true, but damn I'd love to hear Suwabe Junichi's sexy voice of Grimmjow again
). Yeah, someone died in the new (and final) Thousand Year Blood War arc and a few others whose fate are unconfirmed (can't tell unless you don't mind spoilers).

Captain-Commander Yamamoto Genryūsai Shigekuni and his lieutenant Sasakibe Chōjirō Tadaoki died (consequently Central 46 elected and promoted 8th Division Captain Kyōraku -whose full name is revealed to be Kyōraku no Jirō Sōzōsa Shunsui- to replace him as the new captain-commander and leader of the Gotei 13, with Ise Nanao continuing to be his lieutenant, together with a co-lieutenant Okikiba Genshirō who was formerly 1st Division 3rd Seat under Yamamoto. It's not known yet as to who will replace Kyōraku and Nanao previous 8th Division post).While those who received life threatening wounds but whose fate were not confirmed yet are: Kira Izuru and Akon.

Whoa, whoa, I calm down, Akon and Kira's fates are not confirmed, and Byakuya is ALIVE not dead, plus I'm positively sure Kyoraku will be back to his old self as soon as peace returned to Soul Society after the war with the Vandenreich is over.
