Very well, first of all, what are your views on the newer generations of pokémon games?
I don't consider them to be real pokémon as they are poorly designed and the designers clearly haven't put any effort into them.
How do you know that?
What gives you the right to decide what is original and what is unique?
Tell me, are YOU the one deciding what will be put into the Pokémon franchise?
Did you conceptualize, design and program the games many love?
Do you think you're the one Game Freak would ask for creative support?

i must admit i don't have any arguments to contradict what you say.
factual there may not be anything wrong with the new generations of pokémon, it's just not how it used to be and that's hard for me to accept

Well, that's true, a lot has changed since gen 1 and 2.
And I'm not a new-gen-fanboy, but more of an overall Pokémon fan. I like all gens and what they did.
You should just get one of the gen 5 games and play a bit, you'll like it.
Just make sure you turn your inner nostalgia fag off and just go in blind. Most fun that way.
