Another thing a deep freeze after heavy snow does is it produces a good mountain snow pack, which in turn replenishes mountain springs that feed rivers during the dry summer. That's why a mild winter is usually followed by a drought.

I notice you tend to mix up "pegasus" and "pegasi." Pegasus is singular. Pegasi is plural. When used as an adjective, the singular is used (eg pegasus ponies).
