That juxtaposition is interesting... It seems Elementary has the more likeable characters, progressive ideas, and gender/ethnic diversity... Meh, typical American show, so tired of those.

I am accepting of Joan, given my liking for Lucy Liu, feminist tendencies, and novelty value. I have always been interested in seeing Sherlock working with a female partner.


Unfortunately, I don't find the actor playing the American Sherlock charismatic or sexy. On the contrary, he looks disgusting, the tattoos don't help, and reminiscent of a hobbo. Point in favor goes to Benedict Cumberbatch!

Having seen BBC's Sherlock first, I'm biased to enjoy it more, the acting is superb, yes there's a lack of diversity but I never cared, and Sherlock is not as apologetic and docile as his American counterpart, making the BBC Sherlock truer to the source material.
