The killswitch isnt anymore in the versions after this. It was mentioned in the release journal of XPS 10.9.6.
Google ''Run as date'' to still use this version but some models may not work properly with it anymore since there was a new feature in the latest version: xnalaraitalia.deviantart.com/.

why do you do that? what purpose does it serve to corrupt people's programs?
i didnt Do it at all. however i also wont bring this case back to focus since it has been causing enough trouble in other sections of dA. the author got rid of it in the new versions and i told You a Program that easily makes the old one work again.

Ah well, updating it was easy enough, I just don't understand why the killswitch was added in the first place
It was added in beta versions of the program. It's a common thing with online games for eg that there's a beta phase were bugs are tested by the users already but it is not the final version. Such versions expire when a final new release is done. The switch in final releases was a bug, meaning it wasnt supposed to be there and it took a few releases to be taken out. The author also stated that it was some sort of thing to motivate him to work on the program more.
