I don't imply that not drawing suggestive anthro is a rule, but a choice. I merely mean that most anthro pony art is suggestive, you on the other hand don't do it. Which in turn is a choice. That makes you better than most anthro pony artist in the sense of morality. You choose clean art for all ages for everyone to see, while suggestive artist will draw their art for people who like to look a art for "other" purposes. Your anthro pony can be seen by everyone, and that in turn makes you look good as a person. Some art styles can speak a lot about people by what they draw. You draw mot for self pleasure, but for clean fun. That is what makes you better than most anthro pony artist.

I'm going to have to respectfully disagree with you.

I think that's awfully arrogant to describe one kind of art is being better than another. Personal preference is always valid and should be respected on all sides. But taking an subjective opinion and asserting it as objective fact isn't very fair or logical, and it's not your place to make an all-encompassing judgement on an aspect of art. Your idea that anything suggestive is inherently "less good" or "less moral" is entirely your opinion. As long as efforts are taking to remain discreet on the internet, I don't believe there is nothing immoral about suggestive art, and believe so is a decidedly puritan way of thinking.

I don't appreciate being put on a pedestal over other artists for perceived moral reasons that I don't agree with.
"Morality" aside, there is the fact that tons of anthros are drawn mainly for sex appeal. Whatever your reason for not making yours so, I think it's refreshingly unique.

(also, since they're worksafe, I can show them to my friends without embarassment, which is nice.) Sweating a little...

That's certainly understandable. Thanks!

I still stand on my opinion. I won't put you down for stating your opinion on the subject, everyone will have an opinion on one thing or another I will not put people down on what they think... in this situation art. Sorry for putting you on a pedestal of high stature, I just liked your art for good craftsmanship and being unsuggestive. I didn't mean to make you sound so high up. I didn't mean to make my thoughts appear rude, I was merely stating my opinion.

Well, I can't fault you for not knowing the whole story. Fact is, your praise for me choosing not to do suggestive illustrations is rather undeserved.

It is my belief that the best artists are the most versatile. And to that end I have, in fact, drawn suggestive and NSFW anthro art. I simply don't post it here, as I don't deem DeviantArt an appropriate place for it. I post my NSFW stuff in a place where only those who are specifically looking for that kind of content will find it, as I understand and appreciate that it's not to everyone's taste. And no one should have to see it if they don't want to. So, as I hope you can see, by putting down collective artists who draw suggestive stuff, you were unwittingly putting me down as well.

Now, I know you meant no harm, and I mean no hard feelings toward you. I know you only meant to compliment me, and I don't want to seem ungrateful. So I'm sorry if I had a knee-jerk reaction. But I find myself generally frustrated with the self-designated "moral guardians" of the world who assert that anything sexual in nature is somehow inferior to other art. I enjoy drawing it, just as I enjoyed drawing this. Both are valid art to me, and it hurts me to be told that the art I enjoy making is "less moral" when it, in fact, harms no one; especially when I make efforts to be discreet. Maybe that's not what you were saying, but it sounded like it to me; Hence my responses.

Now I can understand that with the general prevalence of suggestive art, that finding someone who draws art that isn't suggestive (at least as often as not) is a huge relief to those not looking for suggestive art. And for compliments on that basis, I wholly accept. You don't have to like suggestive art. I just don't feel it's right to declare that it is all bad. That's all.

Furthermore, I'm find it odd that this piece would be considered unsuggestive. I mean, sure, it's not a pin-up; but she's got a mid-drift: a design choice that is often considered sexy and suggestive by most people. So that confuses me some.

But all that aside, I do thank you for your compliment on my craftsmanship. I appreciate it.

Your Welcome, and I understand.
