Hm... I think I can offer a large situation if anyone bothers to read my comment. Yes, this is based off myself. I say 'she' because I myself am a woman and she is my default identification for characters.
A six year old of either gender has a mother and a father, her grandparents live close by, but her mother's side of the family lives fifteen miles away (not much.) But then it goes down. Her father is an alcoholic. One day, he comes home from work, drunk, and crashes. Her mother becomes common law married to a man for four years, and is extremely mean, depressed, and emotionally and verbally abusive. Later, she gets a boyfriend. Throughout this time the girl is 10-11 years old and has been to a mental hospital, self harmed, and thought of suicide. She still does, though she hides it. She despises the boyfriend and his seven year old daughter whom is obese, has a cleft foot, is a brat, and is uneducated. (Am I bias? Maybe...) they used to live with the grandparents in the capital of the state (Montgomery for me), but then a big blowup happened. Currently the boyfriend, mother, brat, and daughter live in an RV far from their original homes. They're all in school (College and homeschool.), but sometimes the daughter visits her grandparents and aunt who love her. The daughter has extreme loyalty for her aunt and grandparents, but is tied between hate and love for her mother. She's almost done graffiti with her cousin whom shares the same first name as her, but was caugt. They broke into an abandoned house together once though and vandalized it to an extreme.
