No, I'm not a Marilyn fan, though I do respect him as a person. Laz'ab's design is rather uninspired, using the character creator in Star Wars: the Old Republic, the MMO that I play. I did extensive research on mental disorders, specifically paranoid schizophrenia, as well as researching real-life serial killers, cannibals, and psychotics like Edward Gein, Jeffrey Dahmer, and Dennis Nilsen, who were major reference points for his behavior in-character. This comic is the culmination of that research.
