This is a pretty cool picture, but do ponies really need planes for military purpouses? I mean, they already have wonderbolts which act like fighters if you strap two machine guns at their sides.
Well in fallout equestria the wonderbolts were killed before the war during a hostage crisis I think. Plus most peggasi can't fly nearly as fast as they can and they usually can't carry much when they want to go fast. Pluss because of the way peggsi propel them selves it would be impossible for them to brake the sound barrier. Anything that relies on just moveing air to propel it's self can't move faster than the speed of sound because it can't excelerator the air past it's speed limit. You need to add extra gasses and mass to the exhaust to get it to brake the sound barrier. Rainbow dash is able to due so by giveing her self extra propulsion any mass in the form of that rainbow thing.
