I am ashamed to live in a country that abuses that power.
I'll leave once I can.

No you won't. Because you're a coward. You know how good you have it here compared to other countries but you refuse to believe the truth right in front of you. So you stay, to be protected by the same government and people you ridicule and demonize. Yeah, bet that makes you feel all self-righteous and honorable, right?

Let's move to Russia, babe. Or Germany. Maybe the UK?
AJTalon's avatar
The UK will soon be under Sharia law if the government over there doesn't do something about the radical Muslims taking over. Russia's Eastern Orthodox Church is stamping out all other religions and Putin's allowing it. And Germany, like most of Europe save Denmark, will soon be ruled by Muslim Sharia law, given that they aren't curbing the immigration and their birthrates are so low they will soon be extinct.

But by all means, leave this "oppressive" nation and go live somewhere even worse if you feel like it. I'm not stopping you. You don't have to listen to a single word I've said, and I know you haven't. You're just a pawn, a trapped mind who refuses to see the truth. So in reality, I've just been wasting my breath on another victim, another willing slave. Again, all my opinion. You don't have to listen or agree in the slightest.

However, think for just one moment. Just one. What if I'm telling the truth? What if what I say, what I know, is the truth? I have considered that what you said is the truth. I have considered that the US has made mistakes, has done horrible things in it's past, and I do not refute that. I have also considered that what we have done pales in comparision to the evils committed by other nations, other peoples, over the years. We are not perfect, we never will be, but most of our actions have been in the belief that things can get better, and there are such things as a better way to live, despite the problems that emerge with those ways. So while we should remain conscious and never forget our mistakes and crimes, we should not forget the enormous good we have done at the same time. Simply declaring the US evil in it's entirety is like saying Hitler was a good man because while he slaughtered 6 million people for his twisted beliefs, he loved animals and was a vegetarian.

Do not let evil outweight good if there is more good than evil. Do not let guilt and arrogance blind you to the truth that the principles of freedom, liberty, and democracy are not worth fighting for. And don't let that same evil twist your thoughts into supporting evil disguised as good.

Again though, you don't have to listen to anything I say. You can dismiss me as some right-wing nut and continue to stay ignorant. I do not ask you to give up your beliefs, but I do ask you to examine them. If they hold up to examination, then they are valid and worth fighting for. If not... You change them, or continue to hold up a lie. Which makes you no better than what you believe America has done.

Okay, so the US REFUSED Jewish immigrants during the holocaust. We were the only allied country to do so.
The founding of the United States involved mass slaughter of the native Americans, on a MASSIVE scale.
Trail of Tears. 'Nuff said.
Black slavery. 'Nuff said.
How about during the Red Scare, when the government would execute totally nonviolent anarchists and communists because the government claimed they were plotting the downfall of democracy?
Your fear of Muslim rule is unfounded. The percentage of people in the Middle East that believe it's okay to kill one's self as long as you kill non-believers is very high, but the percentage of people willing to do so is not. What you have now is what Americans like you had during the Red Scare: an unfounded fear of people with different beliefs than yourself. I take that back. It's founded, because the good ol' USG says it's founded (the US Government DID found it themselves, so they'd know.)

Well, I guess if you're not a Christian Republican American, you're just as bad as OBL... or the Pope. Right?

"mindless drone"

Yes, we did, and it was a terrible mistake to make. But if you want to blast the US so much, why don't you blast the Nazis, the Soviets, and the Arab Muslims for THEIR crimes against the Jews?

We didn't kill every Native American, and we didn't force them all off their lands. Many refused to assimilate into our culture, and so we gave them reservations so they could continue their way of life. The Trail of Tears was regetable and tragic, and I do not apologize for it. Slavery, too, I do not apologize for. The thing is, we have apologized to the Native Americans, we have reimbursed them, and we set the slaves free and gave them equal rights long ago. If you want to guilt-trip and angst over our sins that's fine. But we paid for those sins, we did the right thing, and we are a better nation for it.

Speaking of slavery, I suppose you wouldn't care to know that the Arab Muslims practiced Black slavery first, well before the Europeans ever did, and still continue it to this day.

And no-one who was a non-violent anarchist or communist was executed during the Red Scare. I suggest you look up the Venona Program. It'll shed some light on the "innocence" of those accused.

Ultimately, you and everyone who thinks like you are fools for magnifying the US's sins, which are in comparision to most other nations in history slight, while completely IGNORING the atrocities committed by other nations and peoples. You also IGNORE the good this nation has done in favor of your own political agenda. Out of ignorance, out of power-hunger, who knows. All I know is that you are free to your beliefs, and you won't change them. So why do I even bother talking to a mindless drone like you? Enjoy your hatred of freedom. You'll see what it gives you in the end.
