Comment on Surreal world by Matchack

I'm looking for artwork that will successfully describe the world I'm currently writing about. I hope you can at least put my search in the right direction.

The genre isn't quite clear to me. It's not sci-fi. It's probably fantasy, but I'm inclined to call it, extreme fantasy - or maybe even surreal fantasy.

Nothing human is in this world. Earth doesn't exist in this universe.

It is to be a short story.

The world so far has only two sentient characters:
- Small Being: An unidentified main character of unspecified race or form of life.
- Tree Person: The other is an observer who will occasionally communicate with the main character.
Is he a tree? Or is he only called Tree Person?
It is likely that there will be no other sentients in this world.

The terrain should be surreal, but no so much that it will be incomprehensible to the readers.
- something called a frozen Crystal River that calves at a great dark hole.
- night sky will have most anything that looks wonderfully alien, leaning toward the surreal fantasy side.

The premise:
Small Being has, for an undisclosed period of time, been working on his "experiment" that so far consists of a very long channel, and a perfect spherical stone, perfectly fitted for the channel. What the experiment will result in is a mystery until later in the short story.

Is there a genre that this story could fit well in?
Where will I find artists who are already interested in this type of story?

Thanks for any help.
