Thanks, Joseph!

I used to do quite a lot of grahite work years ago, but when I started moving into published illustration, the trend at the time was to do the work with ink. Now, with better technology, the subtle variations of pencil work is able to be accurately reproduced. I enjoyed working on this image and being able to loosen up a bit in the delivery. I'm sure that I'll be doing some more experimentation of this nature in the future, both with graphite and inks. Trying to push the medium a little, I suppose.

I'm really satisfied with how this came out, but then again, with such a beautiful subject as a starting point, how can one go wrong?

:D

I know what you mean about the fact that everybody was doing the work in ink. I used to be around the RPG world a long time ago and there just wasn't much pencil, but as you said, it's different now--and better.

I love doing detailed Pencil pieces too. You know everybody here on dA is dying for more of them. You gonna give 'em what they want? :skull:

Perhaps. If I can find the right subject matter, I'll use graphite (which was the case for Undomiel II). That being said, I am looking at some really cool reference shots which I think will fit the bil nicely. We'll see.

The fine detail stuff has to be ink, though. I've got bottles of the stuff I need to use up... :XD:

That's a great attitude. "I've got bottle of ink to use up!" (Just don't tell anybody how freakin' cheap ink is!)
