Most people don't realize how long these things take to make I think.. :XD:  I think I spent 50+ hours on this, at least 15 hours alone on the mask, so in the end, it isn't really worth selling because even at $500, I would be making less than minimum wage.  That's why I do it just for the joy of creating rather than as a business :)

Oh wow. $500 is a lot more than what I was thinking. XD I guess it's because even though I spend like a week on one drawing, I would only sell it for maybe $10 at the most just because I'm not really confident enough that my work is worth more than that, plus I try to keep in mind that money is pretty tight for a lot of people right now so when I sell something, I don't wanna sell it for really high because one, I don't think my work is good enough to sell for really high, and two, I try to keep the customer's satisfaction in mind, knowing that not everyone can afford a $30 drawing or even a $500 sewn character. lol But yeah, I don't sell my work (at least not yet) because I don't think my art is good enough to sell (especially after seeing so many artists on here who have so much talent and are far better then me) so it gets pretty discouraging... and there's also the problem that I don't wanna turn my hobby into a chore. I draw for fun and it's something I enjoy doing. I don't want to end up selling my art and have it feel like a chore or work because I don't enjoy drawing things that other people tell me to draw. I enjoy drawing what I want to draw, not something else that someone wanted me to draw for them. Sometimes I will do commissions or requests and I always stress over it because I'm always worried that they won't like how it comes out, so it loses the "fun" factor in the drawing and it makes it less enjoyable for me. That is why I never want to go to art school because I don't want to draw what teachers ask me to draw, I want to draw what I want, how I want, because I believe my work looks much better with more feeling into it rather then having it look like I stressed over it or got bored with it. lol

Gotta agree with what you said :) It's part of the reason why I don't want to do commissions either. I like to work on what I want, when I want. Deadlines would definitely add to the pressure and take away from the fun >_<

But yeah, you should definitely keep up the good work though.
As long as you enjoy doing it! ;)
