BAy isn't a bad director, I wish people would stop saying that. If he's so bad, then why do his films gross so much money, and why is he trusted with so many things?

Because he makes money. Just because a director makes a movie that makes money doesn't mean he is a good one. Despite his movies making a lot of money, most of them are critically panned by audiences and movie critics alike. Only reason they do well is at this point people just want to see the train wreck really.

That isn't true, they just say that because they feel ashamed they want to watch it.

They want to watch it to see how bad it is and let there mind be distracted by all the bright explosions on the screen.

Look, no matter what is said, you have to at least recogize he's a good director, or else he wouldn't have been allowed to direct transformers, or the upcoming ninja turtles. Also, Transformers had little to no plot in the original show, so you're going to have to expect that in the movie.

Bay himself said that his didn't get the idea and changed the story to a boy and his car. What is so hard to get about a giant freaken robots warring for years if not centuries and then landing on earth?
The ONLY reason for the human characters in the TV shows was to show who was the GOOD GUYS, no more no less, a bit of advice bay read the source material. The guy who directed star trek II had never seen star trek, so you know what he did HE watched every episode of the show.

But it still has the main essential element, giant robots kicking each other's asses. That's what Transformers was really when you got down to it, and commercialism, and just because he's putting a slightly different spin on it doesn't mean it's bad.
Of COURSE it doesn't automatically mean it's bad, it's simply it's own continuity. However, I found the characters cliche (Saying something, since these were GIANT ROBOTS) and he executed his idea poorly. It COULD'VE been good, but it wasn't.
As for why people trust him with these things, even if they aren't good, people watch them. And if people watch them, maybe they might want to find out more about the source material. Therefor, with a big-name director, the rest of the franchise gets recognition.
Honestly, a lot of them aren't bad, but they are not good. Of course, you are entitled to your own opinion. I've met people who watch Jersey Shore and think that Overboard was an amazing movie. So, yeah.

True but look at transformers II optumus prime was only on screen for a calculated fangasm moment and to rip off the older transformers movie and i never saw those movie in theaters, bay killed the franchise movie potential for me, granted there are worse, I'm looking at you m night shamanlan you killed the last airbender movie franchise BEFORE it started, bay had two things i liked in the frist transformers movie the action, and the idea we REed our tech from megatron that was intereseting.
