I'm not really anal about the rules (though some art-thieves I've confronted in the past will probably disagree on that :p), but I have two main rules: Keep your paws of personal artwork, and credit any resources you use. (With personal artwork I mean individual pieces of art, as opposed to screenshots and manga pages and stuff like that).

I guess the thing that frustrates me most is that people clearly don't read descriptions. Aside from the using art without permission and bad crediting, he does say (in his later deviations) that he only edits. But from the comments it's obvious that 80% still thinks that he made it all, an he doesn't set them straight in his reply.

He even says this in his ID description on his page, take a look... I'm wondering though why those works aren't deleted yet, so many people reported them :(

DA doesn't act unless the original artist reports. And even then... I know of art thieves who have been reported by several different artists, multiple times, and they works are still here.

I think that's nonsense, a theft is still a theft even if it's not reported by the original artist and should be treated the same.

I agree, but that's how they seem to do it. I Back when I was still under the illusion it made a difference, I often got replies on my reports saying "please have the original artist report". Which I would be able to live with, if they'd actually act on dmca reports -.-' I guess that's why they got sued by a few pixiv artists a little while ago.

Still, that's why nowadays I prefer to spend my time tracking down the original artist and informing them, instead of reporting. Also, funny enough, too much reporting can get you suspended.

I didn't know they got sued.
It's funny, a few years back i would receive replies to all my reports, some that they were considered invalid, some that they removed the deviation. A few months back i received 2 replies on reports i did more than a year ago (i even forgot i made them) saying that they need the original artist to report. Seriously, can you not see that they are the same thing and one of those is clearly stolen? Meh.
TinEye or Google search by image are a good way to find all the reposts and maybe, if you're lucky, the original too.

Yeah, my favorites for searching are Google reverse image search and saucenow :)

I'll add the last one to my list, didn't know about it until now :)
