Yep - in fact there's been a lot of interpretations of how Fett got out of the Sarlacc Pit. It seems like he's always been seen as too good a character to kill off that easily!
^^ Plus I'm sure a lot of fans were ticked off on how he got "killed off" so easily. After all, he was a formidable opponent.
