Well, the author expressly says it's a shipping picture, so it comes off as kind of pushy from your end. There are *tons* of Momlestia pics out there, and no need to claim this as one of them. And since the gesture of giving feathers is never shown in canon, it's purely fanon anyway. Authors choosing to evoke it are evoking the intent in fanon, unless expressly stated otherwise. The same way if somebody is shown with Dinkie being held by Derpy they aren't showing a child kidnapping or a mail pony getting touchy-feely with somebody else's filly. Also, when Twilight blushes out of insecurity her ears fold back. They're perfectly erect here.
Again, you have a fair argument but I will see this picture however I like and you honestly cant make me see it another way
That doesn't mean you have to share that interpretation when it's been blatantly stated to be the opposite. It's a bit different if the picture is neutral, but that's like shouting "Long live Jesus" in a mosque. Or bringing a Palin flag to an Obama rally. It's not illegal, but it is kind of impolite.

You could also have ignored the labelled shipping picture and moved on. I came to see them as a pairing, not to see them as adoptive family (especially since Twilight already has a family). There are pictures of them as mother and daughter for people who prefer that interpretation elsewhere on the site.
I felt like enjoying it here, and I have the freedom too, so if you would be so kind as to leave me to do as I please that would be fantastic
