I'm so excited :D But I really don't know what 'summer' is going to bring - around here pretty much the grass just browns off...so maybe it'll be a combo of spring and fall  green trees/brown-gold grasses...

I look forward to seeing it! We have some of that same combination here, in nature the wild grasses and weeds die off due to lack of rain, replaced usually with things like thistle and other weeds. My yard does dies off as well because we are usually on water restrictions during the summer and I refuse to water it for "aesthetics sake" I let mother nature do her thing, if it is her choice to brown the grass, then so be it. :D [good thing I don't have a HOA in my neighborhood!!!] My only issue is that then the next year my yard is all weeds again. I need to find a balance! :D

I know the problem of water restriction and not watering from down in southern California - luckily we're on our own well here but the landscape is too steep for much planting and we've only got a little area that I have to worry about watering (and keeping the deer out of!) Someday we may have an orchard but in the meantime we (by that I mean my husband :giggle:) just have to clear the weeds once or so a year to the fire requirements of 100 feet from the house...
