How about... Aktaries. Aktí is Greek for "shore" and since it is a war-like society, Aries, the god if war.
Oooh, I like it. Having run it through a sound changer (to make sure it sounds like the local language), I came up with Akataris.
Now, as apparently I did have a name for the culture (Tibov, meaning world's navel or something like that, ti means world, bov means center, navel, middle), Akataris will have to be something else. I'll keep thinking on it. I like mulling it over.
