Ok, dont think ther is so much discussion:lol: I´m not such a fan of this time storys and it´s designs. Here i trie something short after second WW tech level. What is a little tricky to say, cause the world of this blimp is not evolved like ours is. Some tech is better, other was never invented. The nations are seperated through a big worldwar what leaves a world in ruins, toxic, radiation and critters.
Its the first sky control/range attack idea of one of the most "solid" nations, made of new and stolen technologys. More a scenario what you find on movies like "Judge Dredd" or "Priest" - dark, dirty but with dangerous tech.

:D I need to read up on the M-Tec world...while the Te'iden nation may have high tech, the more I see of the Ashok, the more I like them ;) they're more Warhammer 40K-ish than Te'iden, aren't they? :mwahaha:

since you mention that the gas bag compartments are light armored and can absorb some damage from missiles, I take it Rhantogg uses helium? that would make for an interesting case if a penetrating hit caused a helium leak in the interior, and nearby crewmembers started to talk funny, alerting them to the damage

Oh cool, you´re interested in?
Not so far from truth i think:lol: Yes, they are maybe a little kind of imperial army, if i search for similaritys. The last tank design i did for Ashok to forge a own design. As in tradition of heavy metal i used some older tank construcion ideas what carrys this feeling. so ironically i just wait for people who told me i had make a WH40K derivative-.-
I had to take a look again to the Land Raider to be sure it isen´t a version of it^^

XD Not so really sure what exactly they use, and whatever they call it^^ The pic in my mind gives teh airship a hardend hull, and then chambers armored against shrappnels with some kelvlar style weave. Hmmm....makes a funny picture...for sure yes. Specially in metion that the most soldiers are between 2,2m and 2,6m tall and build like a brick XD
Could damage the hard and dirty image maybe.....

You playing WH40K?

yeah, Ashok is very intriguing! :mwahaha: a city-state of overbearing military industrial complex types who seek out resources to nab, if only to deny their enemies access to that resource?;) as far as WH40K, no I'm afraid I've never played it, the closest I've gotten is WH Ancient Battles when I picked up Byzantium: Beyond the Golden Gate for research material into the Byzantine/Eastern Roman empire. but I'm very interested in WH40K concepts like their worship of the nearly-dead emperor, the various armed factions, life sucks and then you die, but especially the Adepta Sororitas! :mangapunksai: a holy order of warrior-priestesses in heavy armor is right up my alley

holy smokes, that's 7ft 2in to 8ft 6in! :omg: they're friggin' huge! see, I do like Ashok! :threaten: especially if they have squeaky Mickey Mouse voices

Yes that fits all in all.
Ah ok, was interesting cause WH40K player are a special kind of people^^
I played it a lond time, starting with 14 and end up cause of a new rulesystem and some.....ok, let´s call it sect style operations of the company Games Workshop. At first i just make jokes about the fasistic parts in that world, but later i see that some of the rulebooks in the english original had remain some Hakenkreuze on pictures of the Space Marine shoulder armors. Not funny i thought....the Marines was the PR leading horse.....
Then i see some official tournaments of GW:fear:
They had a bus with some kind of Warhammer-games-Inquisition who made some real brainwash actions....time to step back and only play the game with close friends at home.
Even the comercial side was better and better to see. For example: the newest army was allways the hardest, most unbalanced - so if you have a weak ego, you have to pay for a new book and a new army. Not cool. And the new edition was nothing for the rules, they just wanted to force teh players to rebuy all books and some new models. So we have shitty rules, and a Inquisition who ban everyone with a old edition army from the turnaments(yes, they really came to even thouse little events in the back of a games store). So the most players are "at line".

Yeah, Sororitas had a bad start with me=P
Design is ok, but they are so damn weak that even i think this is a little anti-emancipatory XD
The first time i see a unstartet battlefield, and i say "These will happend and the Sororitas player will loose"(The S player was much more experienced than the Eldar player) was with them. Pure balancing....but they are some of the first armys in the new edition.

I did now something the Inquisition shurly will hunt me down - i create my own armys with rules of existing armys and take models of a better designed game(without a own Inquisiton-.-) called Infinity

Yeah! Huge people need huge stuff=D
Some kind of one enemy city/one tank job;)
BasileusIoannis's avatar
holy crap! :omg: man, Games Workshop better be screwin' around...between the Hakenkreuze and this stupid Inquisition, they're askin' for trouble :stare: there's gotta be a better way to sell the new edition books

I just saw the WH40K Wikia page for the Sororitas...I am just amazed at how many Orders there are. they must have some advantage over other forces, like stronger morale or self-healing? it would suck if they didn't...whole units of fanatical armored female warrior-priests, and they're weaker? heresy! :shakefist:

Infinity makes perfect sense, where's the harm in...oh look, here comes Sisters of the Order of the Ebon Chalice...what's that I-shaped decoration they're wearing? ;p

one city/one tank? I remember something like that, I think they called it Ogre [link] that was more like one country/one tank...;)

Hah, that´s economy. Best customer is a follower-.-
There are some other stuff, like the imperial suppression and alien-hate politic. Best sign is the imperial double headdet eagle:lol:

Hmm, yeah - thought so too....
The Sororitas are the first female space marine order. These marines are genetically enhanced and religious zealots, build up on the genetic probes of the emperer himself. They are 2,5m tall combat machines who hasen´t much to do anymore with the word "human", not in ideology nor in biologic.
A nice concept i think, with much space for ideas. And there are a bunch of orders, fallen traitor orders and loyals.
Then the Sororitas came, as much as i know they are not these Adeptus Astartes wing of the empire. They are part of the church, the Eklesiarchy. The are good fighters in basic but not a sdourable and strong as the marines. But the real weakness is in concept of its army. They have all this "religious zealot" weapons like flamethrowers and machineguns. What is a good thing agains less or medium armored troops, but marine terminators or equal troops walk through the sisters fire like through warm rain. Only two weapons are in the sisters arsenal who can crack heavy armor like tanks or cybots, and one is a infight-only-bomb-pack, and the other is a minimum range heat weapon.
And the famous charakters are not very impressive in infight, compared with nearly all other armys.
Imperial army would shoot them into peaces without a single move.
Marines and Chaos Marines will use heavy fire and infight.
Tyranides will maybe loos some cheap troops till in infight, then ther is absolutly no chance.
Only orcs have a chance to loose against the sisters, and this only with a very stupid army design.....only weak masses with short range weapons can be handled...at eye level....

If i ever wanted to play them i would take a marine order rulebook and write an backround for an new sisterhood - with all the funny toys=D

Haha, trie to name that idea on a tournament and they will handle you like a heretic^^
Hmmm, the "I" is the symbol for the Inquisition....

Was just a slogan flrom my mind. This tank can maybe not destroy a city, but create enough fear to suppress it. A 10 shoot mortar battery with incindary or toxic grenades are good to make the opponent rethink its ideas of sepperation;)
For real warfare the idea is surly stupid, but like we see on our real world - the military will buy what has a use. Sometimes this is only PR(seen on U.S. armed forces at best), but this is also a use, whichever the "enemy to defeat" is. And sometimes the own civilians are the targets, to blind them with shiny future tech or brutal violence.

But in my brain such a tank is a much too easy target for special ops, no matter how impressive armored it is. Buuuut, that´s not Ashok´s perspective=P

ah, the imperial double-eagle...I know a lot of eastern European cultures used it, but I wonder if this one is derived from the Byzantine empire? ;)

I agree with you, since the Sororitas lack all the heavy weapons the Marines have plenty of. it almost sounds like they are modeled after the early (1939-40) Waffen SS, with older weapons like the Bergmann MP18 instead of the Army-standard MP38/MP40, and Czech tanks like the 35(t)/38(t) instead of the latest models of PzKpfw II/III. ironic that the Waffen SS ended the war with some of the best weapons like the MP44 and Königstiger...perhaps it is high time that the Sisters of Battle receive a few of the best weapons themselves!

(yuk mode on) I thought it was "I" for INDEED! :D (music fill) DUN DUN DUUUUUUN!

I've just spent about three hours writing and rewriting a response to your last two paragraphs, and I give up...I can't tell what's so hard to answer, but I need to move on, sorry. I'm probably distracted because I'm watching House MD while I'm doing this ;p
