the game looked awesome, but it turns out to be the biggest lie in history...why? because in all the adverts and marketing they never ONCE implied it was a game completely devoted to online gameplay...they certainly implied that was it's central focus...but never that it didn't have anything else. And now I hear that if you try and turn this game on without internet or without gold membership you literally CANNOT play it...NOTHING happens. what kind of prehistoric bull cr£$ is that. that doesn't make me mad that is just...disappointing...wow Microsoft you really hit an all time low with this one, you were aiming to hit something with a big dump and you really hit the mark.
all the advert had this game looking more like...I don't know...knights of the old republic or something in terms of how it worked but obviously on a far bigger scale and much more advanced...and that sounded awesome because you didn't have to do stuff online you could follow a story and build up your character across planets WITHOUT being online if you don't have access to it. But NOOOOOOO this turned out to be a huge lie that Microsoft waited until the last minute to reveal...you can't do jack if you have no internet and worse than that GOLD membership...yeah that evil little gold that you have to pay so much for on Xbox One...how unholy is that...this game is purely designed to milk people of money through gold because it has NOTHING else.

You can play without Gold, but you need to have internet. That why it says in huge letters and all caps on the box "REQUIRES INTERNET"
Also, Bungie made it not Microsoft. That's why it's on Playstation and not exclusive to Xbox.

If you live in a place in the world where you don't have internet (which you obviously do considering you're online right now) your primary concern shouldn't be games. Also, Gold members get 2 free games a month. Last month one of those games was Halo: Reach. A great game for free. Not really milking people of their money. If you want to have more, you pay more. It's called a working economy. It's not like Microsoft has a monopoly on this market and they're charging ridiculous amounts of money for simple things. No, they're competing with Sony and Nintendo which both create great things.

Anyway, I hope you get to experience it someday. It's a great game and you're missing out. :)

obviously u have no idea what gold membership is; gold membership allows you to play against OTHER PEOPLE online which is the ENTIRE point of Destiny; the game has utterly no other puspose...it is an MMO, its story is fused with online interaction with other gamers which is completely stupid....most games have the story or campaign in a separate mode to this but they have fused it for this game. without gold membership you basically can't play Destiny...because there is nothing to do....

gold membership let's you play online against other people and silver membership let's you use other features like purchase DLC, retro arcade game from the marketplace etc...

this isn't the point though; when the game was being advertised they never ONCE implied that Destiny was a fully online MMO...they made it look more like...I don't know...Knights of The Old Republic or something...you would create a character and upgrade them as you went through the story IF you went online then yes I imagine it would have loads of other people's character's running around....but it just feel to me like they are trying to tell two stories at once and it is clashing like FU£$...I have been watching let's plays and one minute they are doing a mission, killing one of the alien races or whatever and the next they get distracted by some dick who shoots them and they lose track of the mission they were doing...all in all it is a game that destroys itself.
