I've been working on perspective for a while. I think getting that down better would help with the plastic look. I used to be happy if I got a result that looked like something :P I might need to re-think texturing a bit, too. I have a library of textures I made from taking snapshots, but I think I may need to pay more attention to the lighting in the textures themselves.

Ye, the trick is the shadows and lighting in 'em. It's very noticable when you've just had a texture and then apply flat shading/lighting on top of it, giving it the flat 'polished marble'-esque look.
