I'm thinking of theropods and game chickens which are bipedal but are "alien" looking. Although most feathered dinosaurs I've seen have longer back limbs than forelimbs, how plausible is a species that has longer arms than legs?

The problem is always weight. As long as the centre of balance is over the hips you should be fine, either by creating a big heavy butt, or thin arms.

Another question: since the Birrin are an egg-laying species, how do female Birrin cope with this? I can't imagine it's very comfortable pushing out unfertilized eggs on a regular basis, unless they lack the hip width/baby head size problems humans have.

They dont have the same constraints that humans do, though it is a fair point. I based it on the way certain Poison Arrow frogs feed their tadpoles. Perhaps the birrin lay soft eggs?
