I don't know if you follow the fandom enough, seems like it's not the case.

In fact, most of the MLP:FiM fans are adults, grown up men and women (mostly men).

The creators of the show wanted to make a show that the big brothers/sisters, parents will watch with the kids and not walk out the room as soon as it starts. Over the years they put many references in the show that a child couldn't get (Big Lebowski characters in the background in the bowling scene for example).

I was a vendor at bronycon which had over 7000 people over the 3 days. I've seen about  3-4 kid in the vendor area, all the rest of them were over 18-20 years old.

The whole show is clever and very well made, very rare quality lately.

I it omes to the 'sexy' and 'not sexy' thing, if you are on the internet long enough you should know the appearance of a person is not that important if it has a good character (like these ponies in the show), you can imagine them as living people, people like the character in a whole. If it's a pony, well who cares? Renamon, Krystal, Rogue are 'sexy' characters as well for some reason. And not just because of the boobs.

You must be open for these things and walk with open eyes, and stop judging people. Especially if there's nothing wrong with what they do. It's not a kid's show if more adults watch than kids imo. It's a show that was originally aimed for kids but evolved over the years, changed, got better to please the grown ups as well.
